Watauga Democrat photo editor Marie Freeman captured these images from the 2007 Shooting Stars The stars were out Friday night at Watauga Education Foundation's Shooting Stars talent showcase and fund raiser, held Appalachian State University's Farthing Auditorium. The show featured 28 acts by more than 175 student performers. The acts were mainly musical in nature, including dance, singing and musical instrument performances. Missy Harrill, foundation president said the show had record attendance and "people keep telling me it was the best one yet." She said "the kids are so talented, they sell themselves." The event earned more then $30,000 in ticket sales and sponsorships.
